Hey ladies,

This is the wiki and where we can communicate for our project. Anyone of us can make changes on this page. Add info or make changes as needed or as you think of ideas.

Here are the ideas we have to far for our project:

Our presentation will be conducted as a CST (Child Study Team) meeting
  • We will have 3 educators (teacher, speech and psychologist / chairperson)
  • We will have 1 parent and 1 parent member
  • We should put name tags in front of us with job titles
  • We wil create 6 posters for the 6 priorities
About our child:
  • 5 years old
  • chronic ear infections
  • tubes in his ears
  • speech
  • no daycare - a stay at home mom
  • only child

There are many factors that need to be considered when designing an appropriate educational program for children with ASD. This is especially true when you determine their goals and the appropriate teaching strategies for improving their social communication abilities. Since there is no evidence that one approach is more effective than any other the article claimed the most effective approach has 4 characteristics. First, the approach must enhance social communication in a variety of natural contexts. Second, the family members and peers must be involved. Third, a focus need to be on functional, spontaneous, and initiated communication abilities. Finally, the approach must be guided by current research.
